Another Birkirkara test for Floriana

Floriana will be all out to claim the three points on Saturday as they take on Birkirkara in a match from the BOV Premier League Top Six final round at the National Stadium. Meanwhile at the Tony Bezzina Stadium, Balzan face Valletta and Sliema Wanderers take on Sirens in the Play-Out final round.

At the National Stadium, kick-off at 16:00, Floriana face Birkirkara for the second time in six days, hoping for another win after defeating them 3-1 in the Izibet FA Trophy quarter-finals on Monday.

The Greens failed to win in their last three league matches, losing to Hibernians and Gzira, earning a point in a draw with the Paolites. Floriana are currently second on 46 points, two behind Hibernians and six ahead of the Stripes. Birkirkara, on the other hand, are unbeaten in the last four league matches, earning four points from the first two matches of the final round, defeating Gudja 3-0 and being held by Gzira in a 1-1 draw.

Leading the Stripes for the first time will be Jonathan Holland who took over from Andre Paus earlier this week.

The first round clash ended in a 1-1 draw with Floriana winning 1-0 in the second round.

At the Tony Bezzina Stadium, kick-off at 15:00, Valletta seek a third win in the Play-Out final round to secure their Premier League status.

After beating Sirens and Sliema, the Citizens lead the way with 32 points while Balzan are second from bottom on 23 points. Balzan, on the other hand, lost nine out of the last ten league matches and are coming from four consecutive defeats.

Valletta won 1-0 in the first round but Balzan won 2-1 in the second.

At the Tony Bezzina Stadium, kick-off at 18:15, Sirens will be hoping to return to winning ways as they take on Sliema Wanderers who have already been condemned to playing in the Challenge League next season. In fact, Sirens failed to win in their last seven matches, earning a point in a 2-2 draw with Santa Lucia in their last outing. Sliema, on the other hand, opened their final round commitments with a win over Mosta but then lost 1-3 to Valletta.

The first round clash between Sliema and Sirens ended in a 2-2 draw with the Wanderers winning 1-0 in the second round.
