Nadur Youngsters were crowned champions of the BOV Gozo Football League First Division following the 1-1 draw with Kercem Ajax on Saturday.

Following a goalless first half, the Youngsters managed to take the lead thanks to a penalty by Joseph Portelli ten minutes from time.

In fact, the former Nadur Youngsters president and player and current Hamrun Spartans president, who was registered as a player earlier this week, was included as a substitute ten minutes earlier and when they were awarded a penalty, he stepped up and converted the penalty.

Luiz Henrique Santana Motta converted another penalty six minutes later to level matters.

This was a fantastic season for Nadur who dropped just seven points in twenty one matches – a defeat and two draws.

Nadur were presented with the trophy by Charmaine Borg, Regional Manager for Gozo at Bank of Valletta and Samuel Azzopardi, President of the Gozo Football Association.
