Sliema Wanderers win Youth Futsal League

Sliema Wanderers won the Youth Futsal League after defeating Mosta 6-2 in the final played at the National Sport School in Pembroke.

It was a well-fought encounter between the top two teams this season. Moreover this was the end of a hectic season which saw the participation of nine teams who battled it out in a well-organized league by the Inħobb il-Futbol Foundation.

The hero for Sliema was Giorgio Comes who scored five goals with Eric Camilleri adding another for the Blues. Mosta scored through Andrei Buttigieg and Gabriel Deguara.

At the end of the contest, MFA vice-president Adrian Casha presented the trophy to Sliema captain Giorgio Comes.

Meanwhile Balzan won the Challenge Cup as they saw off San Ġwann 8-2. Noah Farrugia was inspirational for the Reds as he scored a poker with Miguel Busuttil netting a brace. Johanes Zelalm and Andrej Nisevic were also on the mark for Balzan. San Ġwann scored their consolation goals through Jake Sciberras and Matthew Camenzuli.
