Balzan continued to strengthen their squad with the signing of Brazilian forward Matheus Nogueira Albuquerque de Souza.

Twenty-eight year old Matheus had started his career at EC Bahia and went on to play for Rio Branco, Caldas Novas, Feirense, Diadema and Galicia in Brazil before moving to Portugal where he played for Praiense, Amora FC and Lusitânia FC Lourosa

Balzan had earlier appointed Oliver Spiteri as their new coach and signed Jonathan Debono, Aidan Friggieri, Luca Mallia, Angel Yesid Torres Quinones and Diver Duvan Torres Quiñónes.
