Luke Montebello is officially a Hamrun Spartans player

Hamrun Spartans secured the services of Malta international forward Luke Montebello from Birkirkara after the two clubs reached an agreement on Friday.

A product of Birkirkara, Montebello joined Italian side Livorno in a joint-ownership deal in summer 2011 and the following summer, the Italian club signed him from Birkirkara. He returned to Malta in summer 2013, playing for the Stripes in the Euro Cup but a few weeks later, joined Valletta, signing a five-year deal.  Montebello had spells on loan with Zebbug Rangers, Tarxien Rainbows and Pembroke Athleta before returning with the Citizens in January 2017. However the following summer, he left the club to re-join Birkirkara. Since then, he had a spell on loan with Balzan in season 2019/20.

The Spartans had earlier secured the services of Ryan Camenzuli, Vinícius de Freitas Ribeiro, Rodrigo Callegari Torre, Jonny Robert do Nascimento Torres, Ognjen Bjelicic, Mousa Balla Sowe, Roko Prša and Elvis Sukisa Mashike.
