Malta international forward Maria Farrugia joined Barclays Women’s Championship side Durham Women.

Farrugia joins the club after leaving Sunderland at the end of last season. With the Black Cats, she won promotion from the FA Women’s National League in season 2020/21.

A product of Nadur Youngsters, she played for Gozo FC in competitions organised by the Malta FA. She moved to England in 2018 to join Sunderland
