Levski file protest after defeat to Hamrun

PFC Levski Sofia announced that on Friday, shortly before the 24-hour deadline, they had lodged a protest with UEFA requesting a replay of the UEFA Europa Conference League third qualifying round second leg against Hamrun Spartans.

In a statement published on the club’s website, Levski said that “the necessary evidence has been presented with regards to a gross violation of the rules by the referee and his assistants, which affected the outcome of the match.”

The case is to be urgently examined by UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee.

Hamrun defeated Levski 2-1 by the end of the ninety minutes and with the result remaining unchanged in extra-time, the Spartans went on to win 4-1 on penalties.

  1. No rematch. Not even in the world cup when Maradona Hand was used was there a re-match let alone in the Conference League. All referee and his assistants are to be suspended. Their mistake their correction
