Xaghra United and Munxar Falcons secured a place in the Round of 16 of the National Amateur Cup after winning two Preliminary Round clashes between Gozitan sides at the Kercem Arkafort Stadium on Saturday.

Xaghra needed extra-time to beat SK Victoria Wanderers 2-1. Luke Meilak put Xaghra ahead on the 27th but David Udoh Monday equalised on the 52nd. In the last minute of extra-time, Fabian John Xuereb notched the winner for Xaghra.

In the next round, Xaghra will face Qormi.

On the other hand, a brace by Fabian Henry Solis on the 89th and 92nd gave Munxar Falcons a 2-0 win over Gharb Rangers.

Munxar will be facing St. George’s in the next round.
