BOV Challenge League: Fgura rescue a point in 2-2 draw with Lija

Sliema Wanderers remain as sole leaders in the BOV Challenge League as Fgura United were held in a 2-2 draw by Lija Athletic at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday.

Erjon Beu put Lija ahead on the 13th and Duvan Mosquera Torres doubled the score on the 21st but a brace by Aroldo da Silva Arruda on the 59th and 65th restored equilibrium.

Melita defeated Attard 4-2 in another match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Hiroya Konno put the Amateurs ahead on the 24th and Nicholas Schembri equalised on the 35th. Konno scored again on the 62nd and 63rd and although Schembri reduced the gap on the 71st, Matthew Debattista made it 4-2 one minute from time.

At the Centenary Stadium, St. Andrews and San Gwann earned a point each in a 1-1 draw, goals by William James England for St. Andrews on the 52nd and Courage Omoruanzoje on the 72nd for San Gwann.

In another match at the Centenary Stadium, Vittoriosa Stars defeated Mqabba 3-0 thanks to goals by Jeremy Delmar on the 10th, Mauricio Osmar Britto Rodrigues on the 25th and Miguel Ciantar on the 86th.

Sliema lead the way with 12 points, followed by Fgura on 10 points, Zejtun 9, Melita, Naxxar, Swieqi and Vittoriosa 7, Lija, Mtarfa, St. Andrews, Tarxien and Zurrieq 5, Marsa and San Gwann 4, Attard and Mqabba 3, Qrendi 1, Marsaskala 0.
