Ferdinando Apap hands Hibernians narrow win over Zebbug

A goal by Ferdinando Apap handed Hibernians a narrow win over Zebbug Rangers at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Friday.

A win which puts the Paolites in fifth place, one point behind Gzira and three ahead of Mosta and Floriana but these have a game in hand. Zebbug, on the other hand, suffer the fifth defeat in six matches.

Hibs coach Andrea Pisanu named an unchanged side as Justin Haber was confirmed in goal. Zebbug, on the other hand, had goalkeeper Miguel Chetcuti replacing Jamie Azzopardi while Travis Bartolo, Ayrton Mizzi and Randall Vella replaced Yanis Tonna, Stanimir Miloskovic and Gaetano Gesualdi.

Following a goalless first half, the Paolites scored the all-important goal twelve minutes in the second half when off a swift counter-attack, Jake Grech served Ferdinando Apap who slotted the ball past goalkeeper Miguel Chetcuti.
