Another heavy defeat for women’s Under-19 national team

The Malta women’s Under-19 national team lost 7-0 to Belgium in another match from League A Group 7 of the UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship at the Estadio Municipal Sergio Conceicao in Coimbra, Portugal on Saturday.

Lore Jacobs scored three in the first half to hand the Belgians a three-goal lead with goals on the 5th, 39th and three minutes in added time.

Five minutes in the second half, Marine Rosala made it 4-0 and Ines Van Gansbeke added another seven minutes later. Alixe Bosteels scored Belgium’s sixth on the 75th with Lore Jacobs wrapping up the victory for Belgium with another goal nine minutes from time.

Malta, who is playing in League A after securing promotion as the best runner-up in League B in Round 2 last season, plays the final match on Tuesday against hosts Portugal. Portugal defeated Belgium 1-0 in the first match but lost 1-2 to Norway.
