BOV Challenge League: Sliema make it seven wins in a row

BOV Challenge League leaders Sliema Wanderers registered their seventh win in as many matches as they defeated Melita 1-0 at the Centenary Stadium.

Mohammed Abdullahi Awad scored the all-important goal just before the end of the first half.

Attard moved seventh thanks to a 2-1 win over Zurrieq at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Bydasser Sammut put Zurrieq ahead on the 4th minute but Andrew Agius equalised on the 16th and Kebba Kebell Suso made it 2-1 on the 63rd.

San Gwann and Marsa shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at the Centenary Stadium. Lucas Ribeiro de Oliveira put Marsa ahead three minutes from the end of the first half but just before half-time, Boubacar Kanta equalised. Matheus De Lucena Guariento handed San Gwann the lead on the 84th but two minutes from time, Ribeiro de Oliveira scored again for Marsa to level matters.

Tarxien Rainbows returned to winning ways as they defeated Fgura United 2-1 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Aroldo da Silva Arruda put Fgura ahead on the 9th but two minutes later, Juninho Cabral equalised and Matthew Tabone notched the winner on the 39th.

At the Centenary Stadium, St. Andrews defeated neighbours Swieqi United 2-0 thanks to a brace by Luka Mijic on the 11th and 94th.

Sliema lead the way with 21 points, followed by Naxxar on 16, Melita 13, Zejtun 12, Fgura and Lija 11, Attard 9, Marsa, Zurrieq, Tarxien, Mtarfa, Swieqi, San Gwann and St. Andrews 8, Vittoriosa 7, Mqabba 6, Marsaskala 3 and Qrendi 1.
