One-match ban for nine Premier League players

Nine Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches. 

The players are Samir Arab (Balzan), Alessandro Coppola and Enrico Pepe (Birkirkara), Neil Micallef (Gudja), Joseph Zerafa (Hibs), Walter Serrano and Peter Xuereb (Marsaxlokk), Ganiu Atanda Ogungbe (Pieta’) and Kei Sano (Sirens).

Birkirkara could not count on Coppola and Pepe for the match against Pieta’ who will be lacking Ogungbe. Arab will miss the game against Gzira, Micalef the clash with Valletta, Serrano and Xuereb the match against Floriana while Zerafa and Sano are ruled out of Sirens vs Hibernians.

In the Challenge League, Julian Azzopardi (Fgura), Mead Mifsud (Lija), Valdo Goncalves Alhinho (Marsa), Rundell Renold Winchester (Marsaskala), Andre Farrugia (Mtarfa), Josuael Azzopardi and Ryan Gilmour Cassar (Naxxar) were banned for one match while Fgura official Mark Cristina was suspended for two matches.

On the other hand, Kurt Magro (St. George’s) was banned for one match in the National Amateur League.
