UEFA Futsal Champions League: Luxol hold hosts Kairat Almaty in goalless draw

Luxol St. Andrews obtained an impressive goalless draw with hosts Kairat Almaty in a match from Group C of the Elite Round of the UEFA Futsal Champions League at the Baluan Sholak Sports Palace in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Despite playing in front of their fans, Kairat Almaty, European champions in 2013 and 2015, failed to break the deadlock as the Maltese champions, who are the first local team to play in the Elite Round, kept them at bay.

Luxol reached this stage after finishing as runners-up in the Main Round Path A Group 3 mini-tournament behind Barca but ahead of Dobovec of Slovenia and Hovocubo of the Netherlands.

In another match on Wednesday, Benfica of Portugal and Chrudim of Czechia shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw.

On Thursday, Luxol face Benfica, European champions in 2010, while Kairat Almaty host Chrudim. The tournament comes to an end on Saturday as Luxol face Chrudim and Kairat Almaty take on Benfica.
