Hamrun Spartans moved eleven points clear in the BOV Premier League as they defeated Hibernians 1-0 at the National Stadium on Sunday.
The Spartans now lie on the 40 point mark, eleven ahead of Gzira, twelve ahead of Birkirkara and thirteen ahead of the Paolites.
Two minutes from the end of the first half, Hamrun had an excellent opportunity to take the lead when Ederson was brought down inside the area by Gonzalo Llerena. However Matthew Guillaumier’s effort was neutralised by Haber.
Hamrun, however, managed to take the lead on 62 minutes when off an assist by Guillaumier from the left, Roko Prsa controlled the ball inside the area and rounded two defenders before beating goalkeeper Justin Haber.
