Ghaxaq came from behind to defeat Rabat Ajax 2-1 in Group B of the Izibet Amateur League at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.

A defeat which sees Rabat risk their second place.

Maverick Cassar put Rabat ahead on the 56th but goals by Shamizen Buhagiar on the 77th and Ian Calleja seven minutes later handed Ghaxaq the three points.

Msida lead the way with 39 points, followed by Rabat on 31, Gharghur 30, Luqa 29, Kirkop and St. George’s 23, Ghaxaq 22, Siggiewi 12, Dingli 8 and Mdina 6.
