St. George’s Futsal won the Enemed Futsal Challenger League after beating Żurrieq Futsal 6-2 in the final held at the NSS Pavillion in Pembroke on Wednesday.  

After a balanced first half, the Cospicua side improved considerably in the second half scoring four goals in the progress to secure the most important result. 

Jovica Milijic and Wallace Oliveira Santos netted a brace while Karl Luke Schembri and Claudio Venuto added more goals for St George’s. 

Żurrieq were in the game before the interval after goals from David Ferreira de Almeida and Jose Mario Mendes Fernandes. 

At the end of the contest FMA president Mark Borg presented the cup to St George’s captain Ishmael Buhagiar.
