Malta international midfielder Yannick Yankam joined USL League One side Lexington Sporting Club in the USA.
Yankam started his career with Pieta Hotspurs but moved to Qormi, first on loan and then on loan in January 2013 and then on a definite transfer. With Qormi, he made his senior team debut during season 2015/16. He soon established himself and was a key player for the club on their return to the Premier League in season 2018/19. In summer 2019, he moved to Birkirkara where he spent the last four and a half years.

Lexington Sporting Club are based in Lexington, Kentucky. They were founded in 2021 and started competing in the USL League One – the third division in the USA soccer league system – in 2023. By the end of their inaugural season, Lexington SC finished 9th.
