Despite playing for almost half an hour in ten men, Sliema Wanderers managed to hold leaders Hamrun Spartans in a goalless draw at the National Stadium to extend their unbeaten run to ten matches.
This draw leaves Hamrun just three points ahead of second-placed Floriana. Sliema, on the other hand, now lie seven points behind second-placed Floriana but enjoy a six-point lead over fourth-placed Marsaxlokk.
Following a goalless first half, Sliema had Joseph Minala sent off after receiving a second yellow card. However, the Blues held on although Ryan Camenzuli was unlucky to hit the upright with a rising shot in added time.
