A late goal handed Gzira United a narrow win over Sliema Wanderers in a match from the 360Sports Malta Premier Closing Round at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.
A win which puts the Maroons just one point behind the six teams sharing third place, namely Birkirkara, Hibernians, Marsaxlokk, Mosta, Sliema and Zabbar. For the Wanderers, this was the second defeat in three matches and the third loss in six matches from the Closing Round.
The Maroons scored the all-important goal seven minutes from time when off an assist by Thaylor from the right, Faysal Chouaib beat goalkeeper Agu Kelvin Emeka from close range.
