Sliema Wanderers returned to winning ways as they defeated Tarxien Rainbows 1-0 in a match from the YoHealth Malta Premier Opening Round at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Saturday.
A win which puts the Wanderers on level points with Marsaxlokk, one behind joint-leaders Hibernians and Floriana and one ahead of Hamrun Spartans and Valletta.
The Rainbows, on the other hand, suffer a second successive defeat and now share the bottom spot with Naxxar Lions.
The Wanderers took the lead on 3 minutes when off a Fernandinho corner from the right, Murilo Freire headed home past goalkeeper Andrea Cassar.
