Kalkara United registered a sixth win in as many matches in the BOV Amateur League II as they defeated Rabat Ajax 3-2 at the Luxol Stadium on Saturday.
Larens Vella put Rabat ahead on 15 minutes but Owen Gauci scored twice on 24 and 44 minutes with Miguel Perez Jimenez making it 3-1 five minutes in the second half. Jamie Camilleri reduced the gap for Rabat on 64 minutes.
Ta’ Xbiex and Mdina Knights shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Sirens Stadium. Ryan Sciberras put Mdina ahead on 20 minutes but Andre Joe Cutajar equalised on 39 minutes.
Dingli Swallows defeated Ghaxaq 6-0 in another match at the Sirens Stadium. Ronaldinho Daley put Dingli ahead on 18 minutes and Jurgen Gerada doubled the score a minute later. Dylan Attard scored twice on 79 and 80 minutes with Juan Tenorio making it 5-0 on 82 minutes and Andie Sammut 6-0 four minutes from time.
St. George’s and Msida St. Joseph earned a point each in a 1-1 draw at the Luxol Stadium, goals by Taiwo David Akindele on 15 minutes for Msida and Kurt Zahra on 62 minutes for St. George’s.
Kalkara lead the way with 18 points, followed by Mdina on 12, Dingli and St. George’s 10, Msida, Siggiewi and Rabat 9, Ta’ Xbiex 8, Marsaskala 5, Sta. Venera and Gharghur 3, Ghaxaq 2.
