Zurrieq scored four in the second half as they defeated Santa Lucia 4-0 in a match from the BOV Challenge League at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Tuesday.
Following a goalless first half, Jonathan Monney put Zurrieq ahead three minutes in the second half. Jhoel Adrian Sarraute converted a penalty on 70 minutes and Monney added another on 79 minutes. An own goal two minutes later extended the lead further.
On the other hand, in a match at the Centenary Stadium, a goal by Donys Quintero eight minutes in the second half handed Gudja United a narrow win over Vittoriosa Stars.
Melita and Balzan lead the way with 16 points, followed by Birzebbuga and Fgura on 15 Pieta’, Mgarr, Sirens and Swieqi on 13, Gudja and St. Andrews 10, Zurrieq 9, Santa Lucia 8, Vittoriosa 6, Marsa 3, Zebbug 1 and Mtarfa -6.
