Qormi and San Gwann registered important wins in the BOV Amateur League I at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.
In the first match, Qormi defeated Senglea Athletic 2-1.
David Emmanuel Garba put Qormi ahead on 61 minutes and although Jack Zammit equalised on 72 minutes, Ayrton Azzopardi notched the winner on 81 minutes.
In another match, a penalty by Gonzalo Nicolas Virano five minutes from the end of the first half handed San Gwann a narrow win over Mellieha.
