Melita defeated Marsa 3-2 at the Victor Tedesco stadium in a match from the BOV Challenge League on Sunday.
Alec Sladden put Melita ahead on 2minutes and three minutes later, Jean Pierre Attard doubled the score. Quadri Olanshile Allionida made it 3-0 on 13 minutes but a brace by Dor Jok on 64 and 79 minutes reduced the gap for Marsa.
In another match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Zurrieq were held in a 1-1 draw by Mtarfa. Glamour Eziefula Chibueze put Zurrieq ahead on 4 minutes but Luke Camilleri equalised ten minutes later.
At the Centenary Stadium, Santa Lucia and Zebbug Rangers shared the spoils in a goalless draw while in another match, Fgura United and Gudja United earned a point each in a 1-1 draw, goals by Joseph Chilaka Agbakwuru for Gudja on 5 minutes and Dylan Caruana for Fgura on 32 minutes.
Birzebbuga lead the way with 27 points, followed by Balzan on 26, Melita and Fgura 22, Sirens 20, St. Andrews 19, Mgarr, Gudja and Swieqi 17, Pieta’ 14, Santa Lucia and Zurrieq 13, Vittoriosa 9, Marsa 6, Zebbug 2 and Mtarfa -2.
