Victoria Hotpsurs were held in a 2-2 draw in a match from the BOV Amateur League I at the Sirens Stadium on Saturday.
Kurt Borg put the Hotspurs ahead on 14 minutes and Rondinely doubled the score three minutes later. Morientes Muscat reduced the gap just before the end of the first half and Weimar Rojas equalised four minutes in added time.
Qormi received a major setback in the challenge for promotion after losing 0-1 to Luqa St. Andrew’s at the Sirens Stadium. Bledi Alla scored the only goal on 36 minutes.
At the Luxol Stadium, Mqabba were held in a goalless draw by Senglea Athletic while Kirkop United came from behind to beat Qrendi 3-1. Samuel Saldanha put Qrendi ahead before the end of the first time but Gthio Bellia equalised on 75 minutes, Dale Tabone put them ahead on 85 minutes and two minutes in added time, Cedric Macalou sealed the issue with a third goal.
Attard lead the way with 46 points, followed by Victoria on 42, Qormi 37, LIja 36, Mqabba 34, Qrendi and San Gwann 24, Pembroke 21, Zejtun and Senglea 20, Xghajra 19, Kirkop and Mellieha 18 and Luqa 17.
