BOV Amateur League I: Victoria Hotspurs move five points clear of Qormi

Victoria Hotspurs opened a five point lead over third-placed Qormi in the BOV Amateur League I on Tuesday.

The Hotspurs defeated Zejtun Corinthians 2-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium thanks to an own goal on 37 minutes and a goal by Cadu four minutes later. 

On the other hand, at the a goal by Ricardo Nahuel Velasquez five minutes in added time handed San Gwann a narrow win over Qormi at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Luqa St. Andrew’s held Lija Athletic in a 1-1 draw at the Centenary Stadium. Andrea Azzopardi put Luqa ahead on 43 minutes but Lyvann Obissa equalised on 75 minutes.

In another match at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Qrendi and Mqabba shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

Attard lead the way with 50 points, followed by Victoria on 48, Qormi 43, Mqabba 41, Lija 40, San Gwann 30, Qrendi 26, Kirkop 24, Zejtun, Mellieha, Pembroke, Senglea and Luqa 21 and Xghajra 19.
