Tarxien Rainbows stay two points ahead of Mosta as they came back from two goals down to earn a point in a 2-2 draw in a match from the YoHealth Malta Premier Closing Round Bottom 6 at the National Stadium on Saturday.
However both teams remain in the bottom two places with the Rainbows lying three points behind Zabbar St. Patrick who are currently third from bottom.
Mosta managed to take the lead on 33 minutes when Prince Chizubor Emmanuel concluded a good run by rounding a defender and beating goalkeeper Miguel Spiteri with a shot in the bottom right corner from the edge of the area.
The Blues doubled the score six minutes later thanks to Giancarlo Goncalves who beat Spiteri with a header from close range.
Two minutes in added time, before the end of the first half, Tarxien reduced the gap when off a Claudio Murici corner from the right, Nhayson headed the ball home past goalkeeper Akpan.
Four minutes in the second half, the Rainbows levelled matters courtesy of Marko Musulin following an assist by Luke Anthony Borg.
The Rainbows then had Erico Junior sent off after receiving a second yellow card on 69 minutes.
