Attard secured the BOV Amateur League I championship after defeating Qrendi 4-0 at the Sirens Stadium on Saturday.
Nicholas Schembri put Attard ahead just before the end of the first half. Precious Uchecuhkwu Nwankwo doubled the score two minutes in the second half and added another on 72 minutes before Lydon Cuschieri scored Attard’s fourth five minutes from time.
A penalty by Jhanluis Hernandez on 25 minutes handed Mellieha a narrow win over VIctoria Hotspurs at the Luxol Stadium.
On the other hand, Mqabba came back from two goals down to hold Zejtun Corinthians in a 2-2 draw in another match at the Luxol Stadium. Stefi Cale put the Corinthians ahead on 16 minuets and Adrian Carabott doubled the score on 59 minutes. However Jeremy Busuttl reduced the gap on 72 minutes and one minute later, Jeremy Delmar equalised a minute later.
Attard lead the way with 59 points, followed by Victoria on 51, Mqabba 45, Qormi 43, Lija 40, Mellieha and San Gwann 30, Qrendi 29, Senglea 28, Kirkop and Xghajra 24, Zejtun and Pembroke 22 and Luqa 21.
