Hibernians and Birkirkara shared the spoils in a goalless draw in a match from the YoHealth Malta Premier Bottom 6 at the Gozo Stadium on Saturday.
Both sides therefore failed to take the win they needed to stay clear of the bottom two. Hibs extended their winless streak to ten matches while for Birkirkara, this was the fifth draw in nine matches.
The Paolites lie just three points ahead of Zabbar and Tarxien who share the second olace from bottom with the Stripes lying on the 17-point mark, four ahead of Hibernians.
Throughout the ninety minutes, shots at goal were few and far between and the two goalkeepers were, in fact, hardly tested.
