Luxol St Andrews FC were crowned champions of the FMA Enemed Futsal League for the 10th time in their history after a commanding 7-1 victory over University of Malta Students Futsal Team in the Elite Playoffs Final played at the National School of Sport in Pembroke.
Luxol started the match strongly and opened a two-goal advantage by the end of the first half, controlling proceedings with an impressive display against determined opponents who continued to fight throughout the encounter. In the second half, Luxol maintained control of the game and eventually celebrated a convincing victory which secured the national championship and their second trophy of the season. Despite the final scoreline, the University of Malta side can certainly hold their heads high after producing fantastic opposition filled with determination and character against one of the most dominant teams in Maltese futsal.
This success also marked Luxol’s 10th national title in their history, another confirmation of their dominance on the local futsal scene over the years while further strengthening their reputation as one of the country’s most successful clubs.
Following the match, senior Luxol officials stated that the club’s next major objective is to progress further in European competitions and continue raising the profile of Maltese futsal on the international stage.
