Floriana continued to strengthen their squad with the signing of Malta Under-21 international Nikita Shchepetkin.
Shchepetkin moved to Malta from Russia at an early age, joining Birkirkara where he played for the Under-15 side. He then moved to Germany where he played for Borussia Monchengladbach and Rot Weiss Essen but returned to Malta in summer 2023, re-joining Birkirkara where he played for their Youths side and making it to the senior squad for a number of Premier League matches. In January 2025, he joined FC Dynamo-2 Moscow – Dynamo Moscow’s second team – while last January, he moved to Livorno in Italy.
The Greens, who had confirmed Daniel Portela as coach, had earlier signed Paul Mbong, Yassine Jbira, Gaston Manuel Romano, Ange Curtis N Dri, Amar Drina, Tomislav Gudelj, Robert Muric and Kauan. Gulherme Cioletti, Dunstan Vella, Zach Scerri and Carlo Zammit Lonardelli agreed new deals with the club while Aleandro Garzia, Jake Grech and Charles M’Mombwa moved elsewhere.
