American forward Carlyn Presley notched a hat-trick as Mgarr United registered a 4-0 win over Estonian champions Tallinna FC Flora in the semi-final of the Champions Path mini tournament 5 of the UEFA Women’s Champions League first qualifying round at the Štadión Spartaka Myjava in Myjava, Slovakia on Wednesday.
Mgarr will therefore face hosts Spartak Myjava in the final on Saturday, kick-off at 19:00. Ironically last season, Malta’s representatives Swieqi United also faced Spartak Myjava in the final, losing 1-2 after extra-time.
Following a goalless first half, Mgarr managed to take the lead six minutes in the second half through Presley and eight minutes later, the same player doubled the score. An own goal by Kristiina Tullus on 70 minutes extended the lead further before Carlyn Presley completed her hat-trick six minutes in added time.
