Sliema Wanderers continued to strengthen their squad with the signing of twenty five year old Nigerian winger Wale Musa Alli and thirty four year old Greek forward Nikolaos Karelis.
Alli moved to Europe at an early age, playing for Kalev in Estonia, SKU Amstetten in Austria, Zbrojovka Brno and Dynamo Ceske Budejovice in Czechia, USM Alger in Algeria and Ironi Kiryat Shmona in Israel.
On the other hand, a product of GS Ergotelis, Karelis played for Panathinaikos, PAOK, Panetolikos and Panserraikos in Greece, Amkar Perm in Russia, Genk in Belgium, Brentford in England, ADO Den Haag in the Netherlands and Mumbai City in India.
Matteo Lorenzi started his career at Portimonense SC before joining SC Farense.
The Wanderers had earlier appointed Branko Nisevic as their new coach and signed Henry Bonello, Teddy Teuma, Alex Satariano Matteo Lorenzi, Anthony Limbombe, Vlatko Drobarov, Nigel Robertha, Diego Camara and Brian Gambarte.
