Sliema Wanderers registered a third win on the trot as they defeated Mosta 3-1 in a match from the VBET Malta Premier Opening Round league phase at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Sunday.
A win which puts the Wanderers in fifth place, one point behind Valletta, Floriana and Mosta and two behind leaders Marsaxlokk.
For Mosta, this was the first defeat after three wins and a draw from the first four matches.
Sliema managed to take the lead on 16 minutes thanks to Gustavo Alcino and three minutes later, Nikolaos Karelis doubled the score. Giancarlo Goncalves pulled one back on the hour but substitute Brian Gambarte made it 3-1 three minutes in added time.
