Valletta came back from two goals down to rescue a point in a 2-2 draw with Balzan in a match from the VBET Malta Premier Opening Round league phase at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Sunday.
A draw thanks to which they join Floriana and Mosta on the ten-point mark, one behind Marsaxlokk but Mosta will be in action later on Sunday. Balzan follow on eight points.
Macula put Balzan ahead on 6 minutes and nine minutes later, they were awarded a penalty after Oluwatobiloba Awosanya was brought down inside the area by Mbende and the same Awosanya converted from the penalty spot
Just before the end of the first half, Valletta reduced the gap thanks to Alex Tanque
Three minutes in the second half, Balzan had Zachary Grech sent off after receiving a second yellow card and the Citizens notched the equaliser on 76 minutes thanks to a goal by Roko Prsa.
