Under-21s remain empty-handed in UEFA Under-21 campaign

The Malta Under-21 side ended its commitments in Group F of the UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifying round with a 2-0 defeat to Latvia.

This was the tenth defeat in as many matches for Malta in Group F. Ten matches during which Malta scored just two goals and conceded thirty eight.

Malta kept the hosts at bay during the first half but six minutes in the second half, Kristaps Romanovs put Latvia ahead and on the hour, Valerijs Lizunovs doubled the score.
