Gilbert Agius has been appointed Head Coach of the Malta Under-21 National Team, marking his return to the Malta Football Association.
Agius returns having already led the team for a two-year spell, up until 2023.
A former Malta captain with 120 international caps, Agius returns to the Association after coaching spells in Indonesia and, most recently, in the Maltese Premier League.
He has rejoined the team with immediate effect ahead of the training camp that is scheduled for next week.
The Malta FA would also like to place on record its appreciation to outgoing Head Coach Davide Mazzotta, who led the Malta U21 National Team during the last campaign. Mazzotta will continue to lead the Malta U16 National Team, while also taking on a more prominent role in grassroots football, heading a new project that the Malta FA will announce shortly.
