Matthew Guillaumier hands Hamrun narrow win over Floriana

A goal by Matthew Guillaumier handed Hamrun Spartans the sixteenth win in eighteen matches as they defeated Floriana 1-0 at the National Stadium on Saturday to ensure they stay eleven points clear.

On the other hand, Floriana remain eighth as they suffer the third defeat in the last four matches, including the Izibet FA Trophy clash with Santa Lucia.

Kemar Reid was ruled out through suspension but had Sindre Osestad making their debut while Alen Melunovic was handed his first start. Steve Borg was missing for Hamrun but Swedish forward Kalle Holmberg made his debut when he was included as a substitute.

The Spartans scored the all-important goal on 65 minutes when off an Ognjen Bjelicic freekick from the left, Kitanov blocked his attempt, a shot by Mashike and a header by Callegari were also blocked but Matthew Guillaumier slammed the ball home.
