The game, which was once again played in front of a sizeable crowd, saw Paola registering a substantial lead over their rivals, so much that first half ended with Paola leading 6-3. However the champions, forced an incredible second half comeback which saw them not only levelling the score but also going into the lead. Game ended 8-7 with Excess scoring their winning goal just 20 seconds from time.
Meanwhile Alexander Ribic (Excess Bidnija) topped First Division Top Scorers List with 40 goals followed by Noel Bray (Naxxar Motors) with 35 goals and Florin Anton (Excess Bidnija) and Glenn Bonello (Excess Bidnija) with 32 goals each.
Excess RP Bidnija will now participate in the UEFA Futsal Cup Competition between 7-12 August.
The Futsal Malta Association (FMA) which was recently approved as member association with the Malta Football Association, will take over the organisation of the National Futsal League as from next season. Member Clubs have up to 15th June to notify their intention to participate in the coming Futsal League.
