With no players ruled out injured or suspended, Sliema coach Alfonso Greco maintained the faith in the same players which performed well in the first leg, going close to claiming victory at Ta’ Qali.
Ronald Ugrai converted a penalty after just fourteen minutes. Attila Busai doubled the score on 56 minutes but on the hour, Filippo Andrea Scozzese pulled one back for Sliema. The Blues were reduced to ten men three minutes in added time as Paltemio Barbetti picked a second yellow card and was therefore sent off.
