Throughout his career, he played in Germany, Austria, Hungary, Greece, Cyprus and Portugal.

Andre Schembri made his Premier League debut with Hibernians in season 2002/03 but mid-way through season 2004/05, he was transferred to Marsaxlokk. In summer 2007, he moved to Germany to play for Eintracht Braunschweig. Schembri then moved to Carl Zeiss Jena, spending one year before joining Austria Karnten in Austria in summer 2009. However in January, he joined Ferencvaros in Hungary where he spent eighteen months.
In summer 2011, he joined Olympiakos Volou in the Greek Super League but a few months later, he moved to Panionios after Volou were relegated due to match-fixing allegations. In season 2012/13, he moved to Omonia Nicosia in Cyprus and soon established himself as a key player for the club, scoring twenty-three league goals in fifty-eight matches.
In summer 2014, Schembri moved to Germany to join FSV Frankfurt but after a short spell, he returned with Omonia Nicosia where he spent eighteen months.
