Malta international striker Andre Schembri is set to join Cypriot First Division side AC Omonoia Nicosia.
The player is in Cyprus where he passed a medical test and is in the final discussions before signing a contract with the club which finished third last season, two points behind champions AEL Limassol.
Schembri played for Panionios in Greece last season after starting the season with Olympiakos Volou.
He made his Premier League debut with Hibernians in season 2002/03 but mid-way through season 2004/05, he was transferred to Marsaxlokk. In summer 2007, he moved to Germany to play for Eintracht Braunshweig. Schembri then moved to Carl Zeiss Jena, spending one year before joining Austria Karnten in Austria in summer 2009. However in January, he joined Ferencvaros in Hungary where he spent eighteen months. In 2010/11, he had an excellent season with the Fradi, scoring sixteen goals in 27 matches.
