Qormi and Tarxien Rainbows will both be all out to return to winning ways after failing to collect any points in their first two Championship Pool matches as they face eachother on Friday at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, kick-off at 19:30.
For both Qormi and Tarxien, securing a top-six finish was one of the main objectives for the season but now that they managed to achieve this target but now they aim at ending their negative run.

Malta international striker Michael Mifsud aims at winning the three trophies at stake after joining Valletta FC on a three-month contract. Mifsud was speaking during a presentation which was held at the club premises and for which a large number of supporters were present.
Addressing the media, Valletta FC president Victor Sciriha said this was not the club’s first attempt to sign Mifsud. The first approach was made in summer and then the player was approached by the club once again in December. Sciriha said that during the weekend, the club came to know that Sliema Wanderers and Birkirkara were seriously interested in signing Mifsud while Hibernians were also interested in securing his services, depending on the result on the game against Valletta which was played on Saturday.

The draws for the 15th Edition of the Mediterranean Cup have been held and the ball has been set for the most sought after and awaited youth football event in Malta.
This annual event organised by the San Gwann FC Youth Nursery has again attracted the maximum 48 teams required to complete the six age categories in the competition. This year no fewer than 800 boys from 20 local youth nurseries and one team from the Czech Republic will participate in this year’ s Easter Tournament, as it is most affectionately known with the locals.

The Dingli Swallows Under-15 side will be wearing new kits which were presented by Mr and Mrs Mario Rosso on behalf of FEB Construction Chemicals.
Dingli Swallows Youth Nursery thanked them for the donation. Mr Rosso, on the other hand, said he was glad he was helping the nursery and said this was also thanks to coach Frankie Graham.

Six Premier League players were handed a one-match ban following the weekend’s matches while Vittoriosa Stars coach Winston Muscat was suspended for ten matches by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner.
Hibernians were hit worse as they had Miguel Lopes De Pina, Andrew Cohen and Adrian Pulis suspended. Valletta’s Njongo Priso and Steve Borg together with Hamrun’s Manolito Micallef were the other players to be banned.
