Nine Premier League players suspended

Nine Premier League players were suspended by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches. 

Uros Ljubomirac (Balzan) was handed a four-match ban while Kristijan Naumovski (Balzan), Roderick Briffa (Birkirkara), Diego Venancio (Floriana), Anderson De Barros (Gudja), Anderson Carneiro do Nascimento and Elvis Sakyi (Senglea), Brandon Muscat and Stiv Shaba (Tarxien) were banned for one match and are therefore ruled out of this weekend’s matches.

Ljubomirac will skip the next four matches against Gzira, Gudja, Tarxien and Sirens. Naumovski is also ruled out of the Gzira clash. Briffa is ruled out of the big match against Valletta while Venancio and De Barros will miss the game Floriana vs Gudja. Senglea could not count on Carneiro and Sakyi for the match against Hamrun while Muscat and Shaba are ruled out for Tarxien in the match against Sliema.

Sliema Wanderers official Andrea Zammit Tabona was suspended for one match.

In Division 1, Felipe Nunes Fernandes (Swieqi) was banned for two matches while Paul Chimezie (Mqabba), Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza (Pembroke) and Josuel Azzopardi (Swieqi) were suspended for one match.

In Division 2, Ryan Previ (Marsa), Ryan Micallef (Marsaxlokk), Luke Mallia and Michael Micallef (Mellieha), Geoffrey Spiteri (Mgarr) and Neil Caruana (Rabat) were handed a one-match ban. Kalkara official Trevor Thomas was suspended for one match. 

On the other hand, in Division 3, Robert Ciantar and Adam Wingfield (Dingli), Philip Camilleri (Gharghur), Jurgen Gerada (Ghaxaq), Dejan Cassar and Matthew Pace (Mdina), Domenico Marsala and Agatino Sicali (Msida), Carlston Cardona, Cleaven Frendo and Kristian Galea (Mtarfa) were suspended for one match.
