Hamrun Spartans have agreed a deal for Malta international winger Joseph Mbong. A deal between the Spartans and Hibernians was necessary as Mbong was still under contract with the Paolites.
A product of Hibernians, Mbong had a short spell with NK Inter Zapresic in Croatia in the latter part of season 2016/17.
The Spartans, who have appointed Mark Buttigieg as their new coach, were one of the most active sides in the transfer market, completing the signing of another Malta international player – Juan Carlos Corbalan and foreigners Imanol Iriberri, Emerson Marcelina and Elkin Serrano Valero. They also confirmed Manuel Bartolo and foreigners Orestis Nikolopoulos and Ailton Jorge dos Santos Soares.
