The YoHealth Malta Premier resumes this weekend following the international break which saw the Malta national team earn a point in a 1-1 draw in Lithuania and a 3-1 win in a friendly match against San Marino.
This will be the first set of games in an intensive two weeks where teams will be playing five matches in sixteen days.
In the first game on Friday, Floriana will be aiming for a third win as they take on Gzira United. The Greens defeated Naxxar Lions and Tarxien Rainbows while the Maroons lost 5-3 to Hibernians before holding Birkirkara in a goalless draw.
In the second game, Valletta take on Marsaxlokk. The Citizens earned points in two draws with Birkirkara and Hamrun Spartans while Marsaxlokk will be aiming for a third win after back-to-back wins over Mosta and Naxxar Lions.
On Saturday, Hamrun Spartans will be targeting a first win as they take on Mosta. The Spartans were held in two 1-1 draws by Tarxien Rainbows and Valletta. On the other hand, Mosta lost the first game by Marsaxlokk but defeated Sliema Wanderers in the second match.
Hibernians take on Birkirkara in what should be the main highlight for this weekend. The Paolites defeated Gzira but were then held in a draw by Zabbar St. Patrick. On the other hand, Birkirkara only managed to earn two points in goalless draws by Valletta and Gzira United.
Both Zabbar St. Patrick and Naxxar Lions will be chasing their first win in another clash on Saturday. Zabbar lost to Sliema Wanderers but held Hibernians in a 2-2 draw. Naxxar, on the other hand, are the only team without any points after back-to-back defeats to Floriana and Marsaxlokk.
Sliema Wanderers take on Tarxien Rainbows in another match. The Blues defeated Zabbar in their first outing but then lost to Mosta while the Rainbows held Hamrun in a draw but then lost to Floriana.
