Hamrun Spartans held in a third draw

For the third time in five matches, Hamrun Spartans failed to go beyond a draw as they were held in a goalless draw by Gzira United at the National Stadium on Saturday.

They now join Marsaxlokk on the nine-point mark, one behind Floriana. Gzira, on the other hand, continue to chase their first win as they earn the third point in a third draw.

The Spartans held the initiative for long stretches and N’Dri Koffi had an early attempt saved in style by goalkeeper Edoardo Colombo and mid-way through the first half, the same player saw the Gzira custodian neutralise his conclusion.

Mid-way through the second half, Koffi missed another good chance, hitting wide from close range when served by Eder.
