After dropping five points in a defeat to Mosta and a draw with Balzan, Hamrun Spartans will be all out to return to winning ways on Friday as they take on Naxxar Lions in one of the two 360Sports Malta Premier matches in programme at the National Stadium.
The Spartans are currently joint-fifth with Hibernians on eight points, five behind leaders Birkirkara.
Naxxar, on the other hand, share the second place from bottom with newly-promoted Melita and Zabbar St. Patrick on four points. They rescued a point in a 3-3 draw with Zabbar in their last outings following back-to-back 0-2 defeats to Balzan and Floriana.
Meanwhile the first match puts Floriana against Gzira United.
The Maroons are currently third on 10 points, three behind leaders Birkirkara and one behind Sliema Wanderers. The Greens, on the other hand, lie in fourth place, one point behind Gzira.
Floriana are one of three unbeaten sides, along with Birkirkara and Sliema. They were held in draws by Melita, Hamrun and Hibernians, registering their only wins over Zabbar and Naxxar. Gzira, on the other hand, are unbeaten in three matches following wins over Mosta and Melita and a 2-2 draw with Sliema.
