Sliema Wanderers edge closer to Top 6 spot

Sliema Wanderers returned to winning ways as they defeated Hibernians by the odd goal in five in a match from the YoHealth Malta Premier Opening Round league phase at the Centenary Stadium on Wednesday.

The Wanderers moved fourth on 18 points, one behind Hamrun and four behind Valletta and Floriana. Hibernians, on the other hand, are currently sixth on 14 points together with Marsaxlokk who will be in action later on Wednesday against Zabbar St. Patrick.

Mailson Lima put Hibernians ahead on 19 minutes but the Wanderers turned the score in their favour thanks to goals buy Miguel Baggio on 31 minutes and Sulahmana Bah two minutes later.

Six minutes from time, Bah extended the lead for Sliema with substitute Lyon Abela reducing the gap for Hibernians three minutes from time.
